When you rebuild the jet ski pump, you gain performance and improve the quality of the ride. Nicks and dings in the impeller impede performance and make for a rough ride. Worn our shaft bearings and excessive clearance in the housing between the wear ring and the impeller can cause your jet ski to loose power and speed. Also, a worn out drive shaft, bearing carrier and/or seal can result in a ski taking in water and sinking. As you can see, rebuilding your jet ski pump is a relatively inexpensive and easy way to regain some performance that can be lost over time.
What does the jet ski pump do? Basically, it is a function of differences in the mass-flow of water. Water enters and exits a jet drive at differing velocities, power is converted to thrust via an impeller, and the thrust propels the jet ski. Steering right and left is accomplished by directing the system's exit flow in one direction or the other, much like directing the thrust of a submerged propeller-driven system. Forward and reverse motion is infinitely controllable through a reverse deflector that simply diverts the thrust fore or aft. This type of system is common on newer skis.
How to select Jet Ski impeller for your personal watercraft:
If the RPM is too high, then you need to go for a higher pitch.

A lower pitch angle of the Jetski impeller is suggested in high altitude area, such as mountains.
A higher pitch angle of the JetSki impeller is suggested in cold weather areas.
A higher pitch angle of the jet Ski impeller is suggested for top speed performance preference.

1. 3 Blades
A 3-blade propeller usually offer s top speed performance.
Diameter is the distance across a circle encompassing all of the propeller blades.
Pitch is the theoretical distance a propeller will move through the water of each revolution.
4. Right hand or left hand Rotation
In most cases, right hand propellers are used for single engine application and one left hand propellers are used for twin engine applications to achieve better steering control.
5. Cupped Blades:
This is a technique used to enhance the performance of propellers under certain conditions. A cupped propeller will exhibit very high efficiency at high speeds as well as minimize cavitation under heavy loads.
Rake is special design feature. Positive rake benefits from normal bow lift to permit the use of a larger diameter propeller, while negative rake can provide extra blade strength for use in very high speed applications.
